エコノミスト誌への手紙
June 26, 2009
Dear editors at The Economist
I would like to remind you of extremely
dangerous remark made by one of the leaders of Democratic Party of Japan,
Katsuya Okada. Please check the following two articles in Japanese (at the
moment, no English article exists):
The above articles say several
things: 1. DPJ is determined to change the millitary pact between US and
Japan. 2. DPJ is asking the reduction of US force in Okinawa.
As you must know very well, the dollar as
world reserve currency is partially supported by the millitary strength of the
US. Here I am just mentioning a simple fact without any judgement. Mr. Okada's
remark made yesterday is intended to weaken US millitary power in East Asia,
thereby bringing unstable condition in the region. At the same time, DPJ policy
expressed by Mr. Okada would inevitably threaten the status of the dollar as
reserve currency.
Is anti-Americanism rising in Japan? No,
sir. As your correspondents in Japan know very well, most Japanese have not
changed their attitude substantially after the subprime credit crunch. Then you
may be very curious about why DPJ is supported by many Japanese. That is because
Japanese mass media turned brain-washing system a la Pravda during Soviet era.
TVs are not idiot box anymore. They are braing-washing machines for people,
omitting to report dangerous remarks made by DPJ. Newspaper are no better.
Asahi and Mainichi Shimbun have turned DPJ party paper. Yomiuri and Sankei lost
their conservative nature and are omitting to report things related to DPJ as it
is, thus hiding the real nature of DPJ's anti-US and pro-communism
policies.
You must be convinced by now how dangerous
DPJ is. In my opinion, DPJ pose more threats to the world order and global
economy than Iran and North Korea combined. You should write an editorial on
this subject if you believe in market system.
Adolf Hitler was elected by Germans by
democratic election, which might happen in Japan in the near future. I think
that it is your obligation to write on "true nature of DPJ." Thank you very much
in advance.
